Monotype/Monoprint Course

This course is suitable for both beginners, and for the more advanced student.

Susie will start with an introduction to Monotype/Monoprint. She will introduce many techniques and materials, including Perspex and Gelly plates. You will learn about reductive and additive techniques and encouraged to experiment with stencils and found objects.  

Students are encouraged to bring drawings or images to work from but this is not essential as inspiration will be provided.

Mono print is a fun and playful process, with surprising results. It promises to be a fun weekend for all.

Etching Printing Course

Saturday, 15th October & Sunday 16th October 2022 (Six places available)
10.00am – 5.00pm (Lunch break 1-2pm)

This course offers more advanced techniques for the experienced etcher, however all aspects of etching will be covered, so it is also accessible to an enthusiastic beginner.

After an introduction to etching, Susie will guide you through many processes.

Techniques covered: Transferal of image to the copper plate, line etching, aquatint, sugarlift, spitbite, Multi plate printing and colour printing. Susie will also demonstrate a variety of tools including scraper and burnishing. You will learn how to prepare the paper, make a registration sheet and print an edition.

Students are encouraged to bring drawings or images to work from but this is not essential as inspiration will be provided.
