Custom House Studios is a vibrant centre for contemporary visual arts, housed within a historic landmark building in the heart of the West of Ireland. Home to seven professional artist studios, two state-of-the-art galleries, and a dedicated printmaking workshop, the organisation was established to support and champion both emerging and established artists from County Mayo, the wider region, and beyond. Through the provision of affordable workspaces and a dynamic exhibition programme, Custom House Studios presents outstanding contemporary visual art and fosters artistic excellence.

Its artist-founded and artist-centred programme creates opportunities for practitioners at every stage of their careers, nurturing experimentation, dialogue, and professional development while supporting a thriving network of associate artists.
Studio residencies and exhibition opportunities are offered through a biennial Open Call process. Applications for the 2028–2029 programme will open this autumn and will be reviewed by an independent peer panel of professional artists, ensuring a rigorous and equitable selection process.
