Katerina Gribkoff
This exhibition is a manifestation of an open-ended, unfolding relationship between artist and place, in which the wild edge of a garden is considered and engaged through colour-making and craft. It features quilted tapestries made with up-cycled cottons and linens dyed with plants, alongside a series of photographs. Other materials, installed or painted onto walls include nettle fibres, dried flowers, and butterfly bush pigment.
A garden itself is Gribkoff's first solo exhibition after completing her PH.D. in practice-based artistic research at the Burren College of Art and University of Galway. It is a continuation of her research into the application of permaculture and systems thinking to artistic practice.
